Hintergrund
In der Enzymologie ist eine NAD+-Synthase (EC 6.3.1.5) ein Enzym, das die folgende chemische Reaktion katalysiert: ATP + Deamido-NAD+ + NH3 ↔ AMP + Diphosphat + NAD+. Die drei Substrate dieses Enzyms sind ATP, Deamido-NAD+ und NH3, während seine drei Produkte AMP, Diphosphat und NAD+ sind. Dieses Enzym gehört zur Familie der Ligasen, insbesondere zu denjenigen, die Kohlenstoff-Stickstoff-Bindungen als Säure-D-Ammoniak- (oder Amin-)Ligasen (Amid-Synthasen) bilden. Dieses Enzym ist am Nicotinat- und Nicotinamid-Stoffwechsel sowie am Stickstoffstoffwechsel beteiligt.
